Honey Heaven

This piece features a boy running the candy store on a lazy morning. This is inspired by Turkish candy shops, especially featuring Turkish Delight, a renowned type of candy cube.

The Old Factory

This piece is of an abandoned factory overseeing a sunset. I experimented with perspective, as well as a bit of architectural design here.

The Botanist’s Mansion

This piece is based on a dream I once had, about an overgrown mansion/greenhouse hybrid that was overgrown. I distinctly remembered the mosaic tiling and rectangular design, which I illustrated here.

Resting Place

This piece was inspired by <The Divine Comedy> by Frums. I felt a liminal sensation when I first heard this track, and recalled the sight of plastic balls quietly floating in the pool of Singapore’s Science Centre, except abandoned. I want this piece to evoke emptiness with no explanation as to why any object is as it is.

The Magic Town

This piece is an experimentation of 4-point perspective, as well as experiment with a terracotta-like color palette. The architecture and designs contain both Chinese and general European elements.

Empty Radiance

This piece was inspired by <Solitary Dream> by ak+q feat. Sennzai, and its chart on the mobile game Arcaea. There is a section on the chart that looks like branches, and the song evokes an empty, but blissful feeling. Therefore, I decided to combine the two to create this piece.

Doudou Bookstore

This piece is of a geeky student visiting a bookstore after school. It is inspired by old comic bookstores in Taiwan, with dingy lighting and old-fashioned tiling on the floor.

End of a Pilgrimage

This piece is of a pilgrim who has finally reached the temple that contains a statue of his deity. The image of a grand temple with see-through walls, a huge statue and fountains came up in my mind after I listened to the calming music in the game Horizon Zero Dawn.

Heron’s Passageway

This piece is of a wide and tall corridor-like area with clear, glistening water and lilly pads. Two kids relax and play in the water. This was inspired by a piece created by the artist Yuumeiart, posted on Instagram.

Horizontal Clock Tower

This piece shows the roof dome of a strange horizontal clock tower, shroulded in trees. A girl who lives in the woods climbs up the tower and sits to admire the scenery.

The Old Bookstore

This piece is inspired by one of my dreams, where I visited Hong Kong and ended up in a tiny underground bookstore. I combined the look of old, yellowing books wih the cozy environment of a tiny bookstore.

Shroulded Metro

This piece is of an abandoned rail and train, with a former resident revisiting the area. I wanted to mix the mysterious and thick greenery with a vehicle that is oddly familiar, to create a surreal effect.

Icosahedron

This piece is of a gnome discovering a bright greenhouse in the shape on an icosahedron. I wanted to test out my sketching skills in this piece, since I am drawing a complex 3d shape.

Backrooms Level 47: The Adderwood

This piece is my interpretation of the 47th level of the Backrooms, an urban legend involving liminal spaces, Level 47 is known to be overgrown with trees, and there is a huge adder snake roaming around.

The Secret Canyon

This piece is of a canyon hidden deep inside a forest, as well as an explorer looking into the distance. This is also the cover art to its accompanying music track, <The Secret Canyon>.
